BOSCH OFFERS ENHANCED VIDEO CONTENT ANALYTICS AND RECORDING CAPABILITIES FOR ITS IP VIDEO PRODUCTS
Fairport , N.Y. – Bosch Security Systems, Inc., a full-line manufacturer of high-quality security solutions, today announced a new firmware release for its IP video products that delivers critical features for video content analysis (VCA) along with other enhancements, including a recording scheduler and encryption.
Firmware release 2.5 offers a licensable option to enable Intelligent Video Motion Detection (IVMD) 2.0, the latest version of Bosch's powerful VCA software. IVMD 2.0 is a major milestone in Bosch's strategy to move intelligence to the edge in both IP cameras and IP video encoders.
Added features for the VCA software include object identification by aspect ratio, idle-object and object-removal detection, and trajectory mapping for identifying suspicious behavior, such as loitering. IVMD also provides users with an advanced background learning algorithm that adapts to changes in settings and prevents unwanted alarms from moving branches, clouds, shadows, and falling rain or snow.
The new Recording Scheduler allows for up to 10 independent profiles to be assigned to individual cameras. With this feature, security personnel can now set recording parameters for specific time slots during the day and assign schedules to each day of the week. Pre- and post-alarm modes can be established for each profile to automatically record video at a higher resolution and streaming rate when an alarm is triggered. This allows security personnel to capture the triggering event in greater detail.
The new firmware release also provides a higher level of security with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocols and 56-bit encryption for Web browsing and for connections to video management systems. The release also provides 802.1x authentication support, enabling the system administrator to authenticate products trying to connect to the network.
More advanced time-server support includes daylight-saving time with an editable daylight-saving time table and support for both Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) and RFC868 time servers. With SNTP selected, time accuracy at an unprecedented 0.25 microseconds can be achieved – providing precise synchronization between video and audio signals.
A central processing unit performance meter shows resources available for VCA and other system functions, and a live-page configuration option displays VCA trajectories on live video in addition to standard VCA metadata. A low-pass filter also suppresses noisy signals that can occur with some cameras and result in undesirable increases in encoding load.
Firmware Release 2.5 is now available for downloading onto all compatible Bosch IP network video products, including the VIP X series encoders and the FlexiDome IP camera series.
