Wireless, battery-operated DX-COKIT receives acclaim as SIA New Product Showcase winner
April 9, 2008

Linear Carbon Monoxide Detector Kit Earns Fire-Life Safety Product AwardLAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Linear LLC, an innovator in home technology solutions for security, communications, and entertainment, today announced that its new RF-based carbon monoxide detector kit, the DX-COKIT, has received special recognition from the Security Industry Association (SIA) as the best new product in the Fire/Life Safety category. The award was made at ISC West conference held here earlier this month and marks the third time Linear has been recognized in the past four years.

The DX-COKIT includes the new DXS-80, the first UL-listed, battery-operated CO detector with a built-in RF transmitter designed for residential use. The DXS-80 acts as a standalone detector, sounding an alarm when it detects dangerous CO levels, and it can be integrated into any third-party manufacturer's alarm systems using the Linear DX receiver, so it can summon help in case of an emergency. It's the ideal solution for retrofit installations and hard-to-wire applications since it can be installed virtually anywhere. The DXS-80 installs like any wireless smoke detector, and multiple DXS-80 CO detectors can be used in the same home.

Linear's new DX-COKIT includes the CO detector with built-in transmitter bundled with Linear's DXR-702 two-channel receiver. When carbon monoxide is detected, the DXS-80 sounds an alarm while the DXR-702 sends a digitally coded wireless signal every 20 seconds until the air has cleared. There is no field programming required, since each DXS-80 is factory-set to a unique code. And the DXR-702 is powered by an 11-17 VDC or 12-26 VAC power source. An optional remote antenna is available to increase the radio range.
